Spiritual Life Evaluation Essay Sample free essay sample

I was born in Mutare. My female parent was an active church member and she went to the The United Baptist Church in Sakubva Township. So I was raised in a Christian background though my male parent did non travel to church. However even though he did non travel to church. he wanted to see all his kids go to church. Every Sunday we would wake up early to go to Sunday school. Mrs Mlambo who was besides the pastors’s married woman. was our instructor. Sunday school started at 9:00am and I truly enjoyed my Sunday school. Sunday school for me was a clip to see church friends after a long hebdomad of separation. We would read bible poetries and the instructor would explicate these poetries to us. At times we would be required to memorise these poetries as prep. We would sing vocals full of dance and clapping custodies. We will write a custom essay sample on Spiritual Life Evaluation Essay Sample or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page One of the common vocals are: Verse 1 My Bible. my bible and I ( repetition )ChorusOh. what a fantastic hoarded wealth. God gave without step.We are going together. my bible and I.Verse 2My Jesus. my Jesus and I ( repetition ) This went on until I was eleven old ages old when I besides graduated from Sunday school to Junior Youth. As a immature miss. this did non intend much to me and I viewed it as merely a manner of life. At the age of 13 I went for baptism lessons which preceded baptism. We were subsequently to convey white apparels on the twenty-four hours of baptism and we were to have on these white apparels after taking the wet apparels. When it was my bend to be baptized. I meditated the phrases and words said in the baptism discourse. The curate said † I have buried the old Winnie. you are now a new creation† . We all wore white apparels and the church was so thrilled and there was exultation. Each one of us was asked to take a new name since we were now new people and I chose Tsitsi. I kept on reflecting on what had taken topographic point and certainly I felt the new alteration. I was sorry for all the wickednesss I had done before and I cried and groaned. I could experience the love of Jesus who died for me on the cross. The above is the history of how I came to Christ. Everything about me changed. I now had a passion to populate a religious life. I prayed and besides seriously sung vocals of congratulations and worship to the Lord Maturing in Christ. From that religious experience I had passion in reading the Word of God. I followed and neer wanted to lose a discourse. I tried to populate harmonizing to Christian life. For my leisure clip I stopped traveling to the film and I preferred traveling for church activities. My desire was to make voluntary church work. Some of the voluntary work that I did included brushing the floors. cleansing Windowss and other such housework jobs. I besides went for assorted young person conventions and it was ever a pleasance for me. I was married and I was an active church member. My hubby used to come with me even though he was non yet a Born once more Christian. I prayed for him until he had an brush with Jesus Christ besides. In that twelvemonth I saw God. I organized devotedness clip for the household and we would make devotednesss one time every hebdomad. It helped me maturate spiritually. My hubby was subsequently appointed deacon in 2005. I worked with him closely and sometimes I was left to make ministry work while he was off. As a deacons married woman. the Pastor would sometimes inquire me to take the women’s meetings. These experiences made me pray to God for wisdom. The prayer life I was populating made me hold a closer relationship with God which made me mature and finally made me want to larn the religious life hence today I am at Harare Theological College. Hindrances to Growth In 1992 when I joined Bethel Assemblies Church. there were regular women’s family meetings. We met every Wednesday. Pastor Irene Charema. the married woman to my bishop was the 1 who facilitated the women’s meetings and she ever delivered fantastic discourses that uplifted my spirit. The meetings were subsequently re-scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday in a move to suit working adult females. For ground beyond my apprehension. the religious lesson reduced. there was hapless attending and the meetings were no longer consistent as per agenda. This wedged negatively on my religious life as such was a hinderance to my religious growing. I still had a strong ardor and desire to make the past events but it continued to be a thing of the yesteryear. The church is being taken as a concern venture by some church leaders. Church members pay for the curates personal domestic disbursals. They are put on church budget. Expenses include curates food markets. monthly measures. vestur e allowance. auto disbursals and medical measures etc. These can be donated voluntarily by capable members and non to be mandatory. This frustrates uncapable church members and other members will stop up go forthing the church. It was an hinderance to me when I lost some people from the leading squad who used to promote me in hard and good times. Leaderships are excessively busy such that they forego the work of God making their ain concern. On particular one time off occasions like New Year. Easter. Christmas and nuptialss of long functioning member the leaders will be absent. Church members will be so aroused and looking frontward to acquire a good visual aspect from the leaders merely to detect that they did non even come for the event with no proper justification given as to the absence. The terminal consequence is that members lose assurance in their leaders and I am besides one such member who has been affected. It disturbs me because I would wish to see leaders being model. In some cases I will be entirely as leader and the planned dockets will non come out as planned and people will fault the full leading squad. Of class I will be guiltless but no 1 will cognize that. Personally I had a batch of work last twelvemonth. I visited the secret plan during the hebdomad in Marondera and I was unable to come for church plans during the hebdomad and this affected my confidant relationship with God. I missed fellowship clip with my group. that is when I learnt that we are household non a mere group. Due to the above challenges the church becomes dead and it will non turn. Mature religious members will now go forth the church and articulation other churches. The state of affairs affected the staying members and I was among the affected people and it impacted my religious life negatively. Religious Life I made my head non to be moved by physical and religious challenges. My religious life is now stable and firm. I fellowship at Bethel Assemblies Church. Most challenges including those I have discussed above made me a strong Christian. Hindrance taught me to trust on God ever and non work forces. Therefore. I take them as stepping rocks to my success in the ministry instead than faltering blocks. They have really developed me spiritually and I have nil to repent. in fact I point myself blessed. I sometimes organised prayer Sessionss with the young person group and women’s group. I am entrusted with the assets of the church which I keep at my house such as kitchenware. decor fabric and church instruments to advert a few. I besides take bends with the curate and the deacon ( my hubby ) to take different church events. It is my duty to see that the church decor has been done good and on clip. When the curate and his household travel on leave. we are left to make all the ministry work. We have no challenges. alternatively church members appreciate our ministry and leading. We have no church edifice of our ain and we rent. since our subdivision is new and little. On this footing I offer my place as a locale for different church activities. The activities include administrative meetings. church kitchen teas. bachelor’s parties and other events done during the hebdomad. I aspire to be a religious giant hence the passion to larn about religious life. I would love to be an revivalist of the good intelligence to people in future. This I will make to friends. households. communities. continents and worldwide. I will get down by organizing devotedness clip one time a hebdomad with my household. I will subsequently ask for people of all walks in life. my neighbors. my friends and relations. As the group grows I will divide it and open other Centres of family in the community. Further subdivisions of family can be opened once more harmonizing to different similar groups. These will include kids. young person. adult females. work forces. widows. particular people and others. The groups will be taught the rules of religious life and how to obey t hem. I will hold followings who will move as adherents to distribute the good intelligence to the universe.

Miss Julie essays

Miss Julie essays In Miss Julie, by August Strindberg wrote about the naturalistic view of human behavior. He symbolizes the behavior through animal imagery. The animal image Strindberg uses helps him exemplify his naturalistic view. The first animal imagery Strindberg uses is the dog. Jean uses the dog imagery to describe to Kristen how Miss Julie made her ex-fianc act before the break-up. Why, she was making him jump over her riding whip the way you teach a dog to jump. A dog is mans best friend only because a dog is an extremely loyal animal. Having Jean compare what Miss Julies did to her ex-fianc with what some one would do to a dog shows Miss Julies drive to be the dominant one or the master. Strindberg again uses the imagery of a dog when he has Miss Julie say, dog who wears my collar to Jean. Miss Julie feels that her social status is so much superior to that of Jean that their relationship could be compared to that of a master and his dog. The dog imagery in the play is also used to demonstrate the difference in social classes. In the play Miss Julies dog, Diana, is impregnated by the lodge-keepers pug. Kristen demonstrates Miss Julies disgust when she says; She almost had poor Diana shot for running after the lodge-keepers pug. The sexual affair between the dogs also represents the sexual affair between Jean and Miss Julie and how the two of them look down on each other. Jean looks down on Miss Julie for being surprisingly easy to obtain. While Miss Julie looks down on Jean for being a servant of hers and of a lower social class. In the play Miss Julie says that she would have killed Jean like a wild beast and Jean goes on to compare it to the killing of a mad dog. Jean comparing himself to a mad dog also shows how Miss Julie feels that Jean is a sick animal and deserves to die. Like the imagery of the dog Strindberg uses the imagery of a horse. Jean says ...

Read the story Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Read the story - Essay Example According to The Economist (2001), if the giver offered the cash value of the receiver to buy the gift instead of giving the gift itself, the receiver could then purchase what she truly wants, and be happier for no extra cost. The article reached this finding by asking two university students of whether the valued the gift that were offered to them during the past Christmas period. The most conventional approximation put the standard receivers valuation at 90 percent of the buying price (The Economist, 2001). The missing 10 percent is what economists refer to as deadweight loss: a waste of resources, which could be avoided without making anybody worse off. Non-money gifts from extended family members were discovered to be least efficient. The most efficient/appreciated gifts, also those with the least deadweight loss, were considered to be those from close relations and friends, whereas non-cash gifts from normal family members â€Å"extended family† were considered to be the least efficient (The Economist, 2001). As the age disparity between the provider and beneficiary grew, so did the ineffectiveness of the gift. All of which propose what a lot of grandparents discern: when purchasing gifts for an individual with fundamentally unidentified preferences, the best gift is one, which is entirely flexible, such as money cash, or very supple, such as gift vouchers (The Economist, 2001). This article argues that giving a gift of value not only good for the receiver, but the provider, as well. People buy a gift to please the receiver, and when the receiver is pleased, there is a mutual feeling in the giver too. I remember the first time is spent a valentine’s day with my girlfriend that I had to save plenty of cash to get her a pair of doll shoes that she had been admiring a lot. The shoes cost me $60, but the moment I saw the smile in her face when I gave them to her, the amount of money was insignificant. It

Communication Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Communication - Research Paper Example I was with my friends, and sometimes it was awkward getting up out of the raised barstool chairs with backs in order to meet and greet people who were coming and leaving the bar and grill. For the most part, people at my table did not violate other peoples' personal space. Everyone was pretty respectful. I cannot necessarily say the same for the people sitting at the bar. When I glanced over at the bar occasionally, people were leaning on the top of the bar and having their arms folded, or they had their arms pointing the direction of other customers. I'm sure it was a cozy atmosphere for many of those folks, and friendly too, I'm just not sure everyone at the bar had the equal amount of elbow room that is nice to have when one is sitting around the tabletop of a bar. One has to kind of edge in, sit on a barstool, and make oneself comfortable. Peoples' appearances were rather varied and interesting. Some people were dressed up. Some men wore a tie, but for the most part there were no men wearing suits. All the men seemed to be dressed casually but in nice polo shirts. The women for the most part dressed nicely as well, some more than others. Not many women had excessive jewelry or accessories. Some women didn't wear any jewelry at all, which I found quite surprising, because usually on the whole, women wear jewelry of some type. One woman who was a singer in the show had her hair professionally done and wore a modicum of jewelry but nothing too extreme. Another singer in a band which performed, who also was a woman, had absolutely no jewelry on. I thought the woman with the jewelry was prettier and had more substance as an artist than the woman without any decorative ornamentation at all. The woman who wore jewelry looked like she took care of herself better. Her nails were painted and nicely manicured as well. Overall, peoples' appearances were clean-cut but not professional in any sense of the word, except for one woman I did notice who was wearing a dress. Other than that, both men and women wore casual clothing and nothing extremely fancy or overdone. Peoples' communication, both verbal and non-verbal, was congruent for the most part. The people producing the show at the bar and grill were very nervous, looking at the crowd quite a bit and analyzing how many people were at the venue. They had promoted this event (mainly for the sake of their own band being filmed by ABC later on in the evening), and the people who put on the show were worried that they weren't going to get enough of a crowd in to see the artists/musicians play. For the most part, peoples' body language and what they didn't say was very telling. Few people avoided eye contact, which is a non-verbal behavior which people do when they are lying.1 I could tell some people were nervous or bored by the way we were holding conversation. Some people were just nervous to be in social settings, and other people were trying to act interested in making conversation

OGrady Apparel Company Essay Example for Free

OGrady Apparel Company Essay Analyzing Risk and Return on Chargers Products’ Investments Junior Sayou, a financial analyst for Chargers Products, a manufacturer of stadium benches, must evaluate the risk and return of two assets, X and Y. The firm is considering addng these assets to its diversified asset portfolio. To assess the return and risk of each asset, Junior gathered data on the annual cash flow and beginning-and end-of-year values of each asset over the immediately preceding 10 years, 1997-2006. These data are summarized in the table below. Junior’s investigation suggests that both assets, on average, will tend to perform in the future just as they have during the past 10 years. He therefore believes that the expected annual return can be estimated by finding the average annual return for each asset over the past 10 years. Junior believes that each assets risk can be assessed in two ways: in isolation and as part of the firms diversified portfolio of assets. The risk of the assets in isolation can be found by using the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of returns over the past 10 years. The capital asset pricing model (CAPM) can be used to assess the assets risk as part of the firms portfolio of assets. Applying some sophisticated quantitative techniques, Junior estimated betas for assets X and Y of 1.60 and 1.10, respectively. In addition, he found that the risk-free rate is currently 7% and that the market return is 10%.

Science in Shelleys Frankenstein :: Frankenstein Essays

Science in Shelley's Frankenstein    In Shelley's Frankenstein, it's interesting to use the text to ask the question, whose interest's lie at the heart of science?   Why is Victor Frankenstein motivated to plunge the questions that bringing life to inanimate matter can bring?   Victor Frankenstein's life was destroyed because of an obsession with the power to create life where none had been before.   The monster he created could be seen as a representation of all those who are wronged in the selfish name of science.   We can use Shelley's book to draw parallels in our modern society, and show that there is a danger in the impersonal relationship that science creates between the scientist and his work.   It seems to me that Shelley was saying that when science is done merely on the basis of discovery without thought to the affect that the experimentation can have, we risk endangering everything we hold dear.      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   When describing the monster he had created, Frankenstein says: No mortal could support the horror of that countenance.   A mummy again endued with animation could not be so hideous as that wretch.   I had gazed on him while unfinished; he was ugly then; but when those muscles and joints were rendered capable of motion, it became a thing such as even Dante could not have conceived. (Shelley, 235)    This was Victor's response to the reaching out of the monster towards Victor on the night of his creation.   Victor, who for months had worked on this creation, was suddenly confronted with the results of his scientific pursuit.   He had labored night and day in an effort to do something that had never been done by man before.   He had figured out the scientific way to bring life to that which was dead, so he blindly went forth and did it.   He never really stopped to think what the consequences of his action might be.   He knows that the creature he is making is ugly, but he never wonders what will happen to the creature after he is brought to life as a result of that ugliness.   The monster is made oversized so it's easier for Victor to work on him, yet no thought is taken about how the creature might feel about such a form.

Compare and Contrast Essay: The Play Antigone and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Essay

The play Antigone and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban are similar because, the characters in each have similar characteristics. They both have the same themes of revenge, social justice, and redemption. The similarities between these two show that Greek literature is still relevant in today’s world. The play Antigone is about Oedipus’ two sons both dying in battle, and one is given a proper burial and the other is left out in a field to be untouched by anyone. If anyone tries to bury him they will be punished by Creon. Antigone felt that her brother deserved to be buried and was going to take care of it herself, even if she would be punished for it. When Creon got news of Antigone’s actions he couldn’t believe his sons soon to be wife would do such a thing but he knew he needed to follow through on his word and punished her to death. People in the city did not agree with Creon’s decision to kill Antigone, so he decided to have her locked in a cave to suffer. There in the cave Antigone hung herself, when Creons son went out to find Antigone and found her dead he then killed himself. Creon decided that locking Antigone in a cave was also not the right thing to do so he sent out to get her, But they were too late and found them both dead. When Creon’s wife got news of her son’s death she too killed herself. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is about Harry’s third year at Hogwarts. News is going around the Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban, looking for Harry. Harry is warned not to go looking for Sirius and that Hogwarts is not a safe place for him this year, Harry being Harry goes looking for Sirius Black late at night and ends up in trouble. The Play Antigone and the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban both have themes of revenge in them. In the movie Harry Potter’s parents died when he was a baby, in the beginning of the movie Harry learns that Sirius has been in jail for the last twelve years because he was involved in helping with the killing of his parents. Harry is furious about this and wants Sirius dead or back in prison, when Harry finds Sirius he soon learns that Sirius had nothing to do with the death of Harry’s parents and that the person that did is still out there disguising himself as a rat. Harry and Sirius Find this rat named Peter Pedinger and have him killed for helping with the killing of Harry Potters parents and for making it look Like Sirius did it so he would be the one to go to prison. In the play Antigone revenge is shown through the deaths of Creon’s wife, son, and his sons soon to be wife. Creon is told that what he has done to Antigone is wrong and that bad things will happen to him if he doesn’t do something about it right away. Creon ignores this advice at first but then realizes he was wrong and goes out to get Antigone himself. When he arrives to the cave he is to late both Antigone and his son have killed himself. Soon after finding them in the cave Creon learns that his wife too has killed herself. If Creon would have done the right thing right away his family would still be alive. Characters that are alike between the play and the movie share many characteristics. Harry Potter is most like Antigone, they both like to do things they are told not to do, even if no one believes what they are doing is the right thing. They both would do anything for their family. Ronald Weasley is a lot like Antigones sister in the play, he never agrees with what Harry is about to do but in the end he always has Harry’s back. The character in the movie most like the chorus in the play would be professor Lupin. Lupin is most like a chorus because, throughout the movie he tells Harry of events in the past that lead up to the events in the movie, he also prepares Harry for what’s going to happen to him next. Without professor Lupin in the movie no one would understand why Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban and why he is looking for Harry. In the movie Dumbledore is most like the Gods in Greek literature. He runs the school and he always has a solution for everything. He makes sure that those who do good are rewarded and those who do bad are punished. In the movie Sirius has been found and is sentenced to death, Dumbledore knows Sirius is innocent and gives Harry the tools to go back in time and change the events that happened to save Sirius. This movie is about a wizard and his journeys as he goes to school at Hogwarts, but more importantly it shows that anyone can do the right thing, and two the struggles one would go through for their friends or family. A lot like the story of Antigone. She knew she would get in trouble if she tried to bury her brother but she didn’t care he was family and he deserved to be laid to rest, and Creon who swore as a king to sticking to his words, found that punishing Antigone was wrong and went to set her free. I always thought Greek literature was boring and useless, But this assignment let me see how much Greek literature has had an impact on today’s world. Almost every movie or book today has themes of love, hate, or revenge in them and those ideas first started in Greek literature.
